Sunday Blues

I feel like some of my family members look at me when I go to restaurants with them as if I think I am better than them. These past few days I have eaten out a lot with my husbands family and I have skipped out on the bread basket and chips. One of them looks at me and I don't think they understand that I am for real this time about losing weight. Today we went to a country style place and I had grilled chicken, green beans, and a side salad. I didn't eat the roll. I don't think I am better than them, I just want to stick with it this time. I don't want to feel guilty for not giving into the bad food like we have been eating for the past 5 years.

I just feel yucky today. I am still on target. I haven't let the blues give me a reason to mess up on my, what could be three pound loss week.

But, what are you supposed to tell someone who doesn't want to help themselves? How are you supposed to tell someone much older than you that they need to lose 100 pounds and not look like a witch?

Weigh in on Tuesday!! Looking forward to it!!

Confession: I had two cookies today.

Cheer: I didn't eat the roll at lunch today and I had two glasses of water there too!!

  1. Some People don't want help. Just help yourself and high five for sticking with it! Just keep it up and don't let others get you down. Who knows you may inspire them to start losing weight too!

  2. I know exactly what you mean and there is nothing you can do. I had the conversation with the person this past week and desire has to be there. Sometimes I am seen as the vain one, but I don't want to have the extra problems. I am 30lbs overweight..I know that I would be way to thin but am still 20lbs heavier then when Dad died. I have always been conscious of it and you need to be as well. Keep going....you will have ups and downs and just remember your doing it for the right reasons. Excuses are excuses so don't give into them. You have been an inspiration to me and I love the calorie counter...way to go!

  3. Pfft. I'm a million times worse than you. I sit there in restaurants giving everyone else smug looks while they eat their unhealthy food. They're used to me now. :D

Actually, though, the grilled chicken is way worse for you than the roll. Starchy foods have a fattening reputation in the U. S., but it's completely unjustified. People who live on starchy foods (rice in rural China, potatoes in the Andes, etc.) tend to be quite thin and healthy. It's the people eating meat that gain weight.
